A change has happened here recently. This change was undoubtedly minor for you, if you noticed it at all. It was big for me. It will allow me to grow this business to better serve the needs of you, the reader. And recently, there are many, many more of you. Welcome. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can here.
Stay tuned as this business grows new branches. There will be dynamic, interactive online parenting courses and one-on-one coaching services provided soon (This is the first time I’ve mentioned it. Pretty exciting!)
Now I want to learn about you. Since the change here, the comments have dropped off. Have I acquired silent subscribers? Or maybe it’s me. Maybe I haven’t asked you nicely enough. Okay, here goes:
Please, please take the time to contribute your thoughts and questions. There’s a handy little link at the bottom right side of the posts. It says, “Leave a comment”. Click it. I would like to have a conversation with you, but it is difficult to have a one-sided conversation.
Since I’m asking you to tell me about you, I’ll reciprocate.
I’ll tell you a few random things about me. You can find out more on my new and improved About page.
- Some of my loved ones have accused me of being literal. It’s probably true. I loathe the term “lol” to punctuate something mildly amusing. You’ll never see me write “lol”, unless I am truly laughing out loud.
- I love to find reasons to celebrate. I’ve become pretty good at it too.
- Although I drive a mama mobile (yes, a minivan), I secretly long to drive an old car on big rims. It’s just a thing of mine.
Enough about me. Surely you are here because you are already a stand out parent. You read a lot and work to be the best parent that you can be. Do I have that right?
But, since nobody is perfect, you also experience trials and tribulations in the parenting department. Me too. What are your biggest struggles?
Now for your orientation.
1. I’ve included some links (in no particular order) at the bottom of this post for you to check out because the articles are either foundational and popular. Enjoy. And, don’t forget to leave a comment or two.
2. An old timer here at Child Perspective said recently, “I want to touch that SHARE/SAVE button at the bottom of your posts, but I don’t know what will happen.” Are you wondering too?
After your computer sucks you up through a USB port it immediately beams you to my computer where you get spit out into my kitchen (which is where, by the way, my “office” is located). If I’m home, I’ll give you a big hug and maybe even a gin and tonic. It will definitely qualify as a reason to celebrate.
Celebrate? Well, you just hit the SHARE/SAVE button, which allows you to share my post with a friend or submit it to a social networking site, such as: Facebook, Twitter, or StumbleUpon. Thanks! I so appreciate this. Your friends will too. But, if I’m not home, beware of our dog.
hi Emily,
you know i have been following you for a while, and you know i am a big fan, still am.
i love reading your posts after a long day full of excitement and challenges. i always find my self nodding with my head, meaning you know exactly what happens in my life, but how could you…
so thanks for helping.
i love the one on one thing you are going to be offering.
what kind of dog do you have?
tali
Thanks for your kind words, Tali. You are a great cyber-friend. I think about you on the other side of the world. Hope all is well. Tell me what you decided about schools.
Funny you asked – I’m not sure what kind of dog Cuervo is. He was rescued from the woods when he was just a wild, unruly pup. Since then he has grown into a sweet, calm, very sociable dog. Our guess is that he is a German Shepherd & Chow mix.
