Now that you mention it, my daughter has "zing" moments all the time! It's funny, I guess I never thought about it that way. She loves reorganizing the Tupperware, and putting her dirty clothes back in her dresser drawers, oh and she especially likes organizing out DVD rack. Although I try not to interfere with these moments, my Type A personality sometimes gets the best of me and I end up putting it all back before she's done. That really frustrates her, and now I understand why.

I think toddler tends to be curious and once something got their attention, they will be absorbed in it. That's why I am not comfortable with toddler TV programs that repeatedly play mindless hypnotic pictures and music.

Emily,
I stumbled upon your blog after posting today's entry to my own blog (wonderofchildren.wordpress) and was pleasantly surprised. It seems that you and I are on the same page in a lot of ways about children. We even have the same Rachel Carson quote on our blog! I loved reading your entries and will check back. Thanks for sharing your insights!
